Mark Neal is a founding partner of Milhouse & Neal, LLP and possesses extensive experience with, and responsibility for, all areas vital to the management of a public accounting practice. Mark’s primary responsibilities include leading firm growth and supporting the firm’s management. Under his leadership, the firm has consistently grown every year and has been recognized numerous times by St. Louis Small Business Monthly as one of the Top Accounting Firms in the area. He works closely with his team to create value-added tax and business advisory solutions for closely held businesses and their owners.

Known for exceeding his clients’ expectations, he has earned the respect of his clients as well as other business advisors and is regularly entrusted with client referrals to help business owners solve a variety of business challenges. Mark is highly experienced in advising and assisting private enterprises and their business owners with the successful sale and reorganization of their businesses. He provides consultation and strategies to business owners in connection with valuations, business planning, financing and merger, sale and acquisition activities. He has advised and provided litigation support for both plaintiffs and defendants and can provide assistance in case evaluation and pre-trial preparation through discovery and trial testimony. His litigation consulting projects have included damage assessment and analysis, valuation projects, and inspection and reconstruction of accounting records. Mark has written many articles for professional publications on taxation, financial planning and general business matters and has spoken in a variety of forums on these topics.
Mark has considerable expertise in taxation and business advisory services. He advises privately owned enterprises and their owners on tax savings opportunities and profit enhancement and risk reduction strategies. Mr. Neal has assisted clients with strategic business planning and budgeting; developed compensation plans and financial forecasts; and, negotiated bank financing and debt restructuring. He also has provided extensive consultation to entrepreneurs and other non-public business owners regarding mergers and acquisitions, inventory control systems, credit and collections management, and property lease analyses.
Before attending college, Mark served in the U.S. Armed Forces. His entrepreneurial spirit began while still in college when he started his first business. Over the years, he has owned and sold several businesses, which gives him a proprietary perspective when advising clients. Mark graduated from Washington University’s Olin School of Business where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is a licensed CPA and a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He regularly exceeds the annual requirements of the Continuing Professional Education program of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. His past civic duties include serving as Mayor and as President of the Board of Alderman of his local municipality. He currently serves as an advisor to charitable and civic organizations serving the St. Louis region.
