After decades of dedicated leadership, Bob recently stepped down as the firm’s Managing Partner to make space for the growth of others. He now holds the title of Partner Emeritus and continues to serve clients with the same care and expertise that have defined his career. Bob remains actively involved in client engagements and provides valuable insight into firm operations and strategy.
Bob began his accounting career working with the Big Four accounting firm Ernst & Young. He joined the firm of Milhouse & Neal, LLP as a senior manager in 1992 and became a partner in 1997. He has enormously strong diverse technical qualifications and an extensive background in business consulting, tax, accounting and finance. He is also vastly experienced in forecasting, budgeting, planning, financial analysis, auditing, reporting, business practices and controls.
He has spent his entire professional career working with closely owned businesses and their owners in a wide variety of industries. He works with companies ranging in size from startups to businesses with over 100 million in sales. Bob specializes in developing business and tax planning strategies for each client’s unique set of circumstances. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and has assisted numerous clients in both acquiring and selling their businesses, including the transfer of family owned businesses to the next generation. Bob also represents Milhouse & Neal’s clients and negotiates with the IRS, and other taxing authorities to resolve client issues that pertain to these agencies.
While highly skilled in the fields of tax and accounting, his greatest interest is in getting to know his clients and in helping to bring success to the businesses in which they are involved. Bob cares about his clients and thrives on finding successful solutions to the myriad of challenges which clients have presented to him.
Bob graduated from the University of Missouri – St. Louis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. He is a licensed CPA and exceeds the annual requirements of the Continuing Professional Education program of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
A passionate mentor, Bob has always championed the growth and development of his team. He believes that investing in people leads to stronger outcomes for clients.
When he’s not in the office, most likely he is still thinking about the office and his clients. Bob loves spending time with his extended family and longtime friends. He enjoys playing in his golf league and he’s an avid St. Louis sports fan.
