At Milhouse & Neal, LLP, we recognize that our relationships with current and prospective clients are based on integrity and trust. CPAs, like all providers of personal financial services, are required by federal regulations to inform their clients of their policies regarding privacy of client information. CPAs have been and continue to be bound by professional standards and state laws concerning confidentiality that are even more stringent than those required by federal mandate. We will take every precaution to continually protect your privacy.
Types of Nonpublic Personal Information We Collect
We collect nonpublic personal information about you that is provided to us by you or obtained by us with your authorization.
Parties to Whom We Disclose Information
For current and former clients, we do not disclose any nonpublic personal information obtained in the course of our practice except as required or permitted by law. Permitted disclosures include, for instance, providing information to our employees to prepare your tax returns and financial reports. In limited situations with your prior approval, we disclose your personal information to unrelated third parties who need to know that information to assist us in providing services to you. In all such situations, we stress the confidential nature of information being shared and that a violation of our confidentiality policy can result in the termination of an employee or third party relationship.
Protecting Your Information
We retain records relating to professional services that we provide so that we are better able to assist you with your needs and, in some cases, to comply with professional guidelines. To comply with Internal Revenue Service requirements, we retain a copy of all tax returns for current and former clients that we prepared for as long as the return is open to normal audit examination. In order to guard your nonpublic personal information, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with our professional standards.
Your privacy is our professional responsibility. Please call us at 314.995.6900 if you have any questions or concerns.
